What's included in your free in-home assessment?

First, we arrange a time that's convenient for you. During this initial meeting we discuss what you require, need or want.  At the same time we will assess the overall home situation, paying attention to  your overall health and condition. You are welcome to have other people you trust present. With your permission we also take their input seriously as they know you best. A safety evaluation of your home is also made, identifying any significant concerns that should be remedied for your sake and Loving Hands of Nevada staff. You have the option to decide at the end of the free home assessment to let us know if you want our services

Why use Loving Hands of Nevada

We are an agency owned and managed by a family. We are always mindful of not only just getting someone to your home, but sending someone who is the best match for your needs. We always work from the premise that your quality of life is just as important as the health and/or homemaker services we provide.

How do you select my caregiver?

All of our caregivers are thoroughly screened. In addition to fingerprinting and a complete criminal background check, a Personal Aid Certificate, Two-Step TB skin test, pass a CPR course, and have a physical.  Everyone who works with us is bonded and insured.

We focus on matching caregivers to you and your family based on the skills needed and personality traits necessary for a good relationship.

Do I have to sign a contract for a specified period of time?

No. Unlike nursing homes or assisted living facilities, Loving Hands of Nevada services never require a contract for any period of time. However, we do require you sign our Services Packet before starting service with us, which confirms you understand what services and information you receive.

Are your services only for seniors?

No, we also provide services to new mothers, individuals with disabilities, victims of accidents, people recovering from a recent illness or surgery, and anyone who needs a little help getting around the house. Our care professionals specialize in providing a full range of care, from personal care to hospital sitting services to quadriplegic care.

Can you take care of clients with special needs?

Yes. We can service special needs clients and would discuss your individual situation to ensure we can provide a good match

.

What happens if I need to change my schedule?

First we will check to see if your regular caregiver is available. If not, we will find a replacement for you. Please understand, the more notice you are able to give, the better the match we can send.

Can I make permanent changes to my service?

Yes. Your needs may change and we are fully prepared to adjust your services to best meet your changed needs. If your service is covered by benefits you cannot exceed your allowed hours - and if you reduce your hours they reduce your benefit accordingly.

What happens if my caregiver is sick?

We don't leave you without care. We send another caregiver -equally qualified- to your home in the shortest time possible.

What if an emergency happens?

Our caregivers are required to report to the office immediately should there be any changes in your physical or mental status.  They are experienced and prepared to follow a proper course of action in the event of any emergency.

Who pays for my caregiver?

If you qualify, insurance such as Medicaid or charitable agencies can cover care costs.

Are services covered by Medicare or insurance?

Medicare does not pay for standard home care services. Medicaid covers services if your income qualifies. Many long-term care policies will reimburse for these kinds of services. We are happy to work with your insurance company to make that determination.

Can't I just hire someone directly?

Of course you can, but there are several reasons why you may not want to do that.

  • To ensure your safety and the quality of your care that Loving Hands of Nevada provides, you would have to require the same testing we do, and review all credentials and criminal background information on your own.

  • You would have to repeat the same hiring process if you lose your current caregiver due to an increase or decrease in your services - or your caregiver leaves - or you become unhappy with him/her.

  • You should have the same personal liability insurance Loving Hands of Nevada provides for free in order to avoid out of pocket expenses should a situation arise, such as a caregiver damaging something in your home.

  • Loving Hands of Nevada checks up with you at least once a month and we visit your home once every 3 months to ensure all your current needs and met as well as your continuing quality of care. You would want to ask someone capable and trustworthy to support your oversight of you caregiver, making sure your needs are being properly met and who knows how to assist you if they are not.
